Title: Immigration Issues for Domestic and Sexual Assault Survivors
Description: Domestic and sexual violence victim/survivors often face issues of personal safety, housing stability, job security, and maintaining the custody and care of their children. For immigrant victim/survivors, these issues are compounded by language barriers, cultural influences, fear of law enforcement or potential removal, and concerns around immigration status. There are several forms of relief and pathways to legal status that may be available to an immigrant victim/survivor. This training will an overview of the immigration relief available to immigrant victim/survivors of domestic and sexual violence and trafficking, including recognition of client eligibility and the immigration process.
